Week Eleven (1/30/13)

Things are close at the top. In week eleven, the Pros from Dover missed a total of 3 questions all night and picked up a couple of points on the overall leaders, Uncalled Four going into the last week of the season. To add to the drama, Seven Working Legs had a relatively bad week and slipped into a dead even tie with the Pros. Our third place finisher in Week 11, Will Needs a Vacation picked “Classic Children’s Literature” for their category, so study up on your AA Milne folks.

Week Ten (1/23/13)

We had another great crowd in the house for week 10. We’ve now had 71 different teams come out for trivia. In the end, Will Needs a Vacation (AKA Christine 16) pulled out their first ever win by a slim margin over The Uncalled Four. Once again, The Pros from Dover and Ahoy, Dr. Marvin came in tied for 3rd, so they’re back in the familiar role of choosing categories for Week 11. The Pros picked 70’s Music, and Dr. Marvin picked Colleges of Super Bowl Winning Quarterbacks. Specific enough for you?

Week Nine (1/16/13)

20 Teams in the house for Week Nine. The Uncalled Four took advantage of their 3rd place round pick of “Canadian Rock Bands” and finished the night in first place with a fantastic score of 44. It also helped that it was Tim’s birthday, so his brain cells were extra lubricated and ready to perform. Seven Working Legs pulled up right behind with a 42, and we had a tie for 3rd. SO – 2 third place rounds: Geography (Pros From Dover’s pick) and The Wire (Ahoy, Dr. Marvin’s pick). We’ll see everybody Wednesday the 23rd for Week 10!

Week Seven (1/2/13)

Apparently several teams were still on Christmas vacation, because we had a lot more elbow room than usual. Seven Working Legs took advantage of the extra oxygen in the room and set a new high score record with a 46. That also vaulted them into the overall lead after 7 weeks – but it’s still a very close race.

Week Six (12/19/12)

It took three overtimes, but The Pros from Dover came away with the victory after fending off Seven Working Legs and Ahoy, Dr. Marvin (They sail!) in an epic battle. It was cold and rainy outside, but that didn’t keep the brains away, as it turned out to be our biggest night yet with 20 teams playing. It was also our last quiz of 2012 since we’re off the day after Christmas. We will see you on Jan 2…same place, same time.

Week Five (12/12/12)

It finally happened. After weeks of finishing 2nd or 3rd and losing in tiebreakers, The Uncalled Four pulled out a first place finish and picked up the coveted $60 bar tab. They crushed it this week, finishing 4 points ahead of the pack with their 45. Ahoy, Dr. Marvin sailed into 2nd place with a 41 and The Pros from Dover finished in 3rd for the 2nd week in a row. Their 3rd place pick for next week’s category is “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”. As you know, they chose “Celebrity Sex Tapes” last week and it was shocking how well everyone did on that round.

Week Four (12/5/12)

And just like that, Seven Working Legs is back on top – missing only three questions all night. There was great competition at Norb’s last night though, and it took two tiebreakers to determine 2nd place. That honor went to The Uncalled Four after a close round on History. The 3rd place team, The Pros From Dover got to come up with a category for next week and (after some “suggestions” from We Thought This Was Cash Cab) picked “Celebrity Sex Tapes”. That should be interesting. Time to research.

Week Three (11/28/12)

All it took was a Thanksgiving break for a new champion to emerge.  Finally, after coming close in the first two weeks, The Pros From Dover pulled off an overtime win over The Uncalled Four while defending champs, Seven Working Legs fell to fourth place, behind a new team – Springfield Mousetraps.  A record 17 teams packed into Norb’s for this one.  Get there early next week if you want a good seat!

Week Two (11/14/12)

14 teams came out for trivia at Norb’s in Week 2.  13 of those were trying to knock off Seven Working Legs after last week’s overtime win.  Sadly for them, they failed and SWL picked up a 2nd victory in as many weeks – this time needing only 8 rounds.  A good time was had by all (especially SWL who took home another $80).  There will be no trivia next Wednesday, but we’ll be back on the 28th, so please bring your genius friends and get SWL off their high horse.

Week One (11/7/12)

Kicking off the first ever Norb Andy’s Quiz Night, it all came down to a tiebreaker round after Uncalled Four and Seven Working Legs were even at 42 (out of a possible 48) after the eighth and final category.  In the tiebreaker, SWL came up with 5 of 6 correct answers and Uncalled for could muster only 4, so the $80 Norb’s gift card went to Seven Working Legs.  Uncalled Four received 5 large 3-topping pizzas from Papa Johns for their second place finish.  We’re looking forward to next week…study up on child actors and guitar solos.
